Eden Prod Keys — Setup and Firmware Requirements (v22.1.0)

Last updated

Eden shipped without any bundled keys, so a fresh install will not start a single game until prod.keys is in place. It also enforces the firmware requirement more visibly than the Yuzu-lineage builds it descends from.

Where Eden looks for keys

Where Eden reads prod keys

 • Windows%APPDATA%/eden/keys/
 • Linux~/.config/eden/keys/
 • AndroidInternal/eden/keys/

Recent Yuzu-lineage build. Ships without keys, so it expects a current prod.keys before it will boot any game.

Setup

 1. Download the current release from the prod keys download page.
 2. Create the keys folder if it does not exist and place prod.keys inside it.
 3. Install a firmware generation matching that release — Eden needs both for most titles. See switch firmware.
 4. Restart Eden and load one game you know works elsewhere before testing anything new.

Telling keys and firmware apart in Eden

Symptom Cause
Nothing loads, log mentions missing keys prod.keys absent or in the wrong folder
Games decrypt, then stop with a version message Firmware missing or too old
Some titles work, newer ones do not Keys and firmware are behind the releases

Frequently asked questions

Where do Eden keys go?

Its keys folder: %APPDATA%/eden/keys/ on Windows, ~/.config/eden/keys/ on Linux, app storage on Android.
Does Eden need firmware?

Yes, for most current titles. Install firmware alongside the keys.
Why does Eden say my keys are invalid?

Usually the file is present but older than the firmware you installed, so the pair is mismatched.
